Hotel Zovko is located in the center of Medjugorje, only 200 meters from the Church of St. James. Ljiljana and Gojko Zovko started building the hotel in 1996. It was put into operation in 1997 with 6 rooms and a restaurant. After that, for many years, the boarding house expanded until 2011. Then he took on today’s look. The business in the boarding house is built by the work of the whole family, parents and four children who lovingly host pilgrims from all over the world.

Medjugorje is one of the most famous Roman Catholic pilgrimage destinations in the world. It became known through the apparitions of the Virgin Mary, which began to appear as a phenomenon in 1981. On June 24, 1981, six young people from Medjugorje witnessed the apparition of the Mother of God on Crnica Hill. Our Lady has continued to appear to this day, inviting us again and again to conversion. Thus, Medjugorje has become a gathering place for believers from all over the world and is visited by about a million Catholics a year. The center of the gathering is the church of St. Jakov in the center.
